Relay for Life

Wednesday, Nov. 9th

We sold over $1,000 worth of Halloween lollipops to raise money for our HTMS Relay team!  Good job and thanks to all of those who helped.

Playing off of the Cobb County Relay theme of "Tailgating for a Cure," our team came up with three possible themes for HTMS.  They are:

1) HTMS Teams Up to Find a Cure

2) HTMS Kicks Off to Find a Cure

3) HTMS Tackles Cancer

We have artists working on t-shirt designs and we will make a final decision next month.  There will be one more meeting before the end of the year.

NEXT RELAY MEETING IS OCT 12TH!

The next Relay for Life meeting will be Wednesday, Oct. 12th at 8:15 am in Mrs. Healy's room, 7A4.  If you are interested in being a STUDENT TEAM CAPTAIN, you must write one paragraph telling me why this is important to you and describing why you would be a strong Relay leader.  The deadline for turning these into me is FRIDAY, OCT, 7th.  Ms. Hahn and I will announce our choices at the meeting on Oct. 12th.

We will be selling lollipops as a Relay fundraiser everyday before school the week of Oct. 24th.  You may sign up for a shift (or two!) in either the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade.  You will need to be at school by 8:30 am on the days you sign up to work.  Sign up will be at the meeting on the 12th.

Remember that you are not an official member of our team if you have not signed up on the Cobb Relay for Life website as a Hightower team member AND paid your $10 fee.  You can put your money in a School Payment Envelope and drop it in the safe.  Please notate that these are Relay for Life dues.

Monday, Sept. 26th

There will be a Relay for Life meeting Tuesday, Sept. 27th in Mrs. O'Ryan's room, 6A4 at 8:15.  We will discuss lollipop sales and go over how to sign up on the Cobb Relay for Life site.  Go to www.cobbrelay.org and click on "sign up" on the right hand side of the web site.  Follow the prompts from there.  Let me know if you have any questions!
