·        From here students may view selected chapters and sections or click on the red “Book Pages” tab to go to a specific page. Once you select the “Book Pages” tab you will be directed to page 2.  Type the page you wish to see in the pages box, and you may view any page in the book.

o       Once on a practice page, you can then click on “Homework Help” and “Interactive Practice Quiz” to view additional resources for the section. The answers to the odd problems in the textbook begin on page 854, and are organized by chapter.

November 9th

We went over Friday's homework solving multi-step equations using the distributive property.

Unit 3 Test 1 is on Thursday (may be postponed to Friday if needed!)

November 6th

We took our Unit 3 Quiz 1 today on translating expressions and 2-step and 3-step equations.

Homework is to re-do last night's homework (you can download from Nov 5th post). I went over 3-4 problems in class with the students, so they had good examples (if they wrote them down). This is a self checking worksheet so if they do not find their answers, then they need to re-wrok the problem.

Unit 3 Test 1 is NEXT Thursday!!!!!!!!

November 4th and 5th

The Book fair is coming!!!!!

It is next week, M - F, 8:30 - 5:00, in the 8th-grade commons. It will also be open for the Holiday Shoppe on Sat., 11/14, from 10:00 - 3:00.

November 4th: Took notes on using the distributive property to solve equations.

Nov 2nd

I checked the worktext page 62: 3-15 odds for a homework completion grade. we went over in class. The students were given back the Unit 2 Post Test. they will be given the opportunity to add up to 15 points back to their test on Wednesday with a re-do. They MUST get their tests signed and do corrections to their test on separate sheet of paper (due Wednesday)

In class we did a graded classwork assignment on 2-step equations.

There will be a quiz Friday on equations, translating expression and Pythagorean Theroem.

Help session @ 8:30 on Wednesday for test correction questions.

Oct 29 and 30th

Oct 29th: We reviewed the steps to solve equations. We started with a review of one-step equations to amke sure students understand the process and how to show their work before we get to multi-step equations.

Oct 30th: We reviewed 2-Step Equations. The do/undo method was taught. See powerpoint Download 2 Step Equations

HW: Worktext page 62. 3-15 odds, must show all work on a separate shee of paper!The kids started this in class. This will be graded as a classwork assignment.
