....and now for November!

We're moving right along in the 2009-2010 school year. The students are really on a roll and have gotten the hang of  middle school. Thank you for helping your child get  organized, and used to the many responsibilities they now have. There are only a few weeks until the Thanksgiving Holidays and we have much to do before we get there. I hope everyone continues to stay healthy!

BOO! October is here!!

Fall is finally here and we all look forward to cooler temperatures. As it gets cooler, remember to bring a sweater or jacket since some areas in the building will be colder than others.

We have had a large number of absences in all classes. Thank you for your patience while we work through all the make-up assignments. Students are doing well reminding me that they need make-up work and getting it completed and returned. Thanks Parents for helping them get caught up at home.

We continue to wipe down our tables at the end of the week, and use hand sanitizer during the day to avoid the spread of germs. Hopefully we can keep a cap on the illnesses as best as possible.

Cough and Runny Nose Season is Here!!

We are doing our best to keep the classroom clean and free from germs. We are gladly accepting donations of disinfecting wipes to use to wipe down the desks during the week. We would greatly appreciate your help with this!

We also can use boxes of tissues anytime you come across an extra. Those runny noses are arriving daily and the tissues make life much more pleasant.

We're doing great in Mrs. Seaman's class. A big thank you to the many families who have donated classroom supplies to our room. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!!

I hope everyone has obtained access to Pinnacle and has been checking grades. If a grade shows up as missing, then it was either not turned in, or turned in with no name. Please have your child touch base with me, and we'll try to figure out why their work is missing. Remember, assignments can be turned in the next day for half credit! We've talked about the benefit of turning it in late, over not turning it in at all. Thanks for your help with this.

Any graded work is always returned to students. Please ask your child to show you their papers any time you have quesitons, or would like to check their progress. We have set up an organization system in class which helps them keep up with all work. If the work is not in the tabbed sections of their binder, they have not followed directions. I think we're all getting better at staying organized. It's the best path to success in sixth grade.

Welcome to 6th Grade!

Welcome to Hightower Trail sixth grade! I am looking forward to meeting all of you and getting started on the great concepts we have ahead of us. Remember to always bring your agenda to class, and the other required materials. We will go over our organization strateiges and classroom expectations during the first few days. Remember I teach both math and science and you must click on the subject area that you are looking for to be able to access that information. I'm so happy to have you in class and can't wait to get started. We have so much to do, so rest up and be ready to roll!!
