Welcome back everyone.  I hope everyone had a great summer and is excited for the new school year.  We had a great first week and I can't wait to see what is to come.  Parents please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.  Students lets keep up the great work.  Thanks for a awesome first week.

Week of May 4 - 8

Monday - Complete both sides of the Mystery Message handout.  Make corrections to the ticket out the door.  They are due when you turn in your quiz.

Tuesday - Make sure you have the 12 basic prime factorization problems done.

Please donate bags of fun size M&M's for an activity next week.  Each pair of students will need about 5 fun size bags. 

Week of April 27 - May 1

Monday - No Homework

Tuesday -No Homework.  Please have tons of paper and pencils for the rest of the school year!

Wednesday -  Complete both sides of the Polynomials Worksheet.

Thursday -  If you didn't finish the classwork assignment and turn it in then make sure you turn in the completed assignment on Friday.  Complete ONLY parts 1 and 2 on the mystery message handout.

Friday -  No homework unless you didn't finish your ticket out the door.

Important Information:  We will be covering three concepts in the next three weeks.  We will be reviewing adding, subtracting and multiplying polynomials and introducing parent functions.  An assignment that the students will have at the end of next week requires M&Ms.  I am asking for students to bring bags of fun size M&Ms.  Parents if you can help with this that would be great!!!!

Tuesday - Solving systems of equations by substitution.  HW is the attached 12 problem worksheet. I will be available both Wednesday and Thursday at 8:15 a.m. to help you with homework or any make up work you need to complete.  This nine weeks ends on Thursday.

Wednesday - Solving systems of equations by elimination.  HW - 5 problems to solve by elimination.



1.  x - y = 4, x + y = 4

2.  x + 2y = -3, x - 4y = 15

3.  3x + y = -8, -3x + 4y = -2

4.  3x - 10y = -15, -3x + 10y = 15 (purple only)    4x - y = -11, 6x + y = -9 (all other classes)

Friday - Unit 6 Test - You will be given exactly 20 minutes in class on Monday to complete and/or look over your tests from today.  Please also bring graph paper and your red Algebra workbook to class on Monday. 

Week of Feb. 23-27

Monday - Quiz over scatter plots, parallel and perpendicular lines.

Wednesday - Alternate Exterior, Alternate Interior, and Corresponding Angles.  "Try it" side of the worksheet. 

Quiz over Angles will be on Monday of next week.


Thursday - More practice with angles - complementary, supplementary, vertical, alternate exterior, alternate interior, and corresponding agles.  PLEASE learn these vocabulary words.  There will be a quiz on Monday.


I will be available tomorrow (Friday) at 8:15, and Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of next week at 8:15.


Friday - Today we practiced and reviewed angles and how to find their measures.  There will be a quiz on this on Monday.  Please complete the worksheet side titled "Find the value of x."  The other side is optional if you want extra practice.


Tutoring next week will be on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:15.

Week of Feb. 17-20

I will be available Wed. morning at 8:00 for anyone who needs to make up a quiz, test, or needs extra help with something.  I will be available on Friday morning at 8:15 for anyone who needs extra help before the quiz on Friday.

Tuesday - Today we learned about scatter plots.  HW is a worksheet due tomorrow.


Wednesday - Parallel and perpendicular lines and their slopes.  It is possible that you finished your worksheet in class.  If not, please finish it for class tomorrow. 


THE QUIZ HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL MONDAY.  IT WILL COVER SCATTER PLOTS, PARALLEL AND PERPENDICULAR LINES.  (Classes will be short on Thursday due to a meeting with the Pope staff)  I will be available for extra help on both Friday and Monday mornings at 8:15.
