Week of January 30 - February 1

Monday - Today we continued to review Unit 5 by working on corrections.  If students turned in page 29 and the Unit 5 review they are allowed to work on corrections for full credit.  If students never turned in page 29 or the Unit 5 review they may turn it in on 2/1 and earn at most a 70.  All corrections are due by the end of the class period on Wednesday 2/1.

Week of January 23 - 27

Download Unit 5 Review Part 1Monday - Today we discussed SLOPE.  Complete page 18 #s 1-18.  Numbers 7 -18 need to be done on a separate piece of paper.

Tuesday - Today we introduced the slope-intercept form.  Homework is page 22 A-C.  There are notes on pages 9A - C in the packet.  I will be here around 8:20ish Wednesday morning for extra help.

Wednesday - Today we continued to graph linear equations.  Complete page 29 for classwork/homework.  This will be graded.

Thursday -  Today we reviewed slope and graphing.  We worked the Unit 5 Review in class.  If you did not finish it in class it needs to be done for homework.  Unit 5 Review:Download Unit 5 Review Part 1

Monday - No School MLK Day!

Tuesday - Today we graphed Linear Equations by creating a table of values.  Homework is page 16 and eat a good breakfast on Wednesday.

Wednesday - 8th Grade Writing Test.  Make sure you have page 16 done and you have studied for the quiz on Thursday.  I will be in around 8:20 for questions regarding the quiz.

Thursday - Today we took the Relations Quiz.  Complete the investigating slope handout.

Friday -  Today we discussed how to graph a line by using the x and y intercepts.  Complete problems 3 -7 on the attached handout.Download Intercepts Practice

Monday -No School

Tuesday - Welcome Back!  Today we took the Checkpoint Formative Assessment.  Homework is page 3 in the new Unit 5 Packet.

Wednesday - Today we introduced functions.  Homework is page 2.

Thursday - Today we discussed linear vs. nonlinear functions.  Homework is page 5.  If you can't determine if the table is linear you will need to graph each of them.

Friday - No Homework this weekend.  Please have plenty of graph paper, lined paper and pencils for the third nine weeks.  Reports cards went home today!

Friday - NO SCHOOL!!!!  Have a fun and safe Winter Break.  Be prepared to work hard next year.  Please replenish your school supplies.  You will need lots of paper, graph paper and plenty of writing supplies.

Monday - Today we continued with the Benchmark Review #2.  Finish this for class tomorrow.  Test Corrections are due on Wednesday.  Students also received the Unit 3 Retest Contract today.  Work must be checked off by 12/16.

Wednesday - Today we continued with Arithmetic Sequences.  Homework is page 5.

Thursday - Today we took the Checkpoint in class.  There is no additional homework.  If you did not complete page 5 make sure its done for class on Friday.  Also, make sure you have completed the retest contract assignment and have it checked off by the end of the day on Friday.

Friday - No Homework!!!!

Monday - Today we introduced Inequalities.  Homework is page 56 #s 1-10 and page 60a #s 1-10.

Tuesday - Continued with inequalities.  Homework is page 63 #s 1-8.

Wednesday - Today we worked on translating inequalities.  We also worked on page 86 #s 1-20.  This will be graded as a quiz.  Test corrections are due on Friday.

Thursday - Today we discussed Absolute Value Inequalities.  Homework is page 79 a/b #s 1-10.  For those of you who didn't complete page 86, the take-home quiz you must turn it in completed on Friday with a parent signature.

Friday - Today we discussed how to translate absolute value word problems.  There is no homework over the weekend.

Monday - Today we discussed Absolute Value Equations.  Tonight's homework is the Absolute Value Equations handout.  Only the front side #s 1-16.  Yellow class has no homework tonight.  We will continue with absolute value equations on Tuesday.

Tuesday - Today we continued with Absolute Value Equations.  Tonight's homework is the back side of yesterdays handout numbers 2-16 even.

Wednesday - Today we reviewed for the test.  Tonight's homework is quiz corrections.

Monday - Today we continued with variables on both sides.  Homework for White and Green classes is page 23A #s 2-10 evens and Red and Yellow classes page 23A 3, 4-10 evens.  Corrections for page 19 and 16 are due on 11/9.

Wednesday -  Today we discussed different type of solutions.  Homework is handout #s 1-12.  Remember:  3 - all real number, 3 - No Solution and 6 - 1 Solution

Thursday -  Today we discussed translating word problems into algebraic equations.  Today's homework is page 38 #s 1-4.
