- Monday - 1/23 - Warm Up - "Grammar Guru" - Download Grammar Guru 1.Mann directions Continue with Expository Text Structure Activity. We modeled the first article on Friday and responded with answers on our graphic organizer - Download Frayer Model - Text Structure Analysis. Today, we partnered and read "The Irresistible Urban Myth" page 188 of the Reality Central text.
- Tuesday - 1/24 - Finish Expository Text Structure Activity. Read the following articles from your Literature book: "The Black Smoke," beginning on page 896 & "How the Black Death Affected Europe", page 902. See "Language Arts Resources" for a link to the online text. Using your graphic organizer (see Monday for copy), analyze the text structure organization of each article and record your answers on the graphic organizer. HW: Finish your article analysis. - Friday 1/27 - Quiz - Text Structure Organization - What do I study? My Frayer Model/CRISS strategy notes from The Reader's Journey page 244. My notes from the Taco & Pizza compare & contrast ppt. Review the articles that you analyzed in our Literature book earlier this week. Finished? Write your final draft on your candy compare/contrast paragraph. Complete your assigned reading strategy lesson. All students have been assessed for areas of weakness in the following areas: main idea, inferencing, and/or context clues. You received two lessons in your area of weakness. If you don't finish in class, it is homework & due on Monday. HW: Finish Reading lessons & choose your top 3 choices for your research project.
