Georgia State University MidSingFest! - Important Information

Due to concerns over the 8th Grade Writing Assessment (and 7th grade practice assessment) given on January 18, we have withdrawn from participating in the GSU MidSingFest!.  Those students who paid their $15 registration fees on Tuesday, January 10, will be refunded that amount.

We apologize for the change of plans, but certainly wish our students well on their Writing Assessment...and for them to arrive at school on January 18 well-rested and ready to write!

The invitation from GSU to participate in this event was a huge honor for our choirs.  We hope to have the opportunity presented to us again next year!

Kroger's "Santa's Night Out" - 7th and 8th Grade Choruses Only!

Exciting news!  Kroger, one of our school business partners, asked this past Friday that we sing for their "Santa's Night Out" on Tuesday, December 13. Students available to perform will need to be at Kroger (corner of Shallowford and Johnson's Ferry) at 5:15.  We will gather in the parking lot for a short warm-up, then plan on singing during the 5:30-6:30 hour.

Students will need to wear jeans and a festive holiday shirt.  Santa hats and reindeer antlers are okay, too:-)

Stroll the aisles while we serenade your shopping!  

Parents will need to transport students to and from Kroger - all students should be picked up by 6:30! 

GIrls Ensemble Rehearsals

7th and 8th grade girls interested in the extra holiday performances should attend rehearsals on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of the week of December 5.  Rehearsals begin at 8:20 a.m.

7th and 8th Grade Uniforms

All 7th and 8th grade chorus members will wear the black and white performance ensemble that has been used for several years.  Those students new to chorus this year need to see Ms. Logue this week for a uniform.

6th Chorus Concert Uniforms

Sixth grade chorus members participating in the December 15 concert will need to have their uniforms paid for by December 12.  Uniforms will NOT be distributed on the day of the concert.  Please be responsible and take care of your uniform by then.  Parents should email Ms. Logue if there is a problem with securing the uniform.

Tops for the girls are in, and will be distributed to those that have paid on Wednesday of this week.  All girls will need to have black pants to wear with the tops.  Please remember that you have only purchased the top.  We will not use the skirts for 6th grade only this year.  Black pants will be used, and will also be used for the remainder of the year (including spring concert).

 

December Concert!

Our holiday and winter concert will take place on Thursday, December 15 in the HTMS Auditorium.  The concert begins promptly at 7:00 p.m., and students are required to be in their places for warm-up at 6:15.

We're excited that the HTMS Chamber Orchestra will be joining us on this concert!  They have a variety of holiday hits to perform, and will be accompanying our 6th Grade Chorus on one song!  We hope to see you there!

Guitar Reminders!

Students in 8-2 Guitar have a playing test on Thursday, September 21.  Students can come in and practice any morning from 8:15-8:45.  Let Ms. Logue know when you will come practice!
