We are off to a great start! Seventh and eighth grade choruses received their HTMS Chorus Handbook this past week. Please complete and return the GREEN information sheet and the COBB BLANKET PERMISSION/FIELD TRIP form as soon as possible. Those forms were due on Friday, August 15.
Students are encouraged to bring a box of tissues for the classroom. They also need a chorus folder, pencil, and paper for class use.
Continue to support the HTMS Choral programs and activities by shopping the Virginia Diner on-line catalog. We continue to receive profits from our fundraiser sales on-line through October 2009.

Superior, Superior, Superior!!!!
Both the 6th/7th Treble Choir and the 8th Mixed Choir received Superior (or "I") ratings in performance at our district festival - the highest level that can be given!!!! Congratulations, students, on an outstanding job!
Comments from the judges included "very confident tone", "you look very polished and sing that way as well," "what great male singers," "Wow! Beautiful, perfectly placed tone," "phrasing so beautifully done" !
Our festival selections will be performed for parents at the annual HTMS Night of the Arts on April 16 - we plan on seeing you there!

Auditions will be held for the Georgia Music Educators Association Statewide Sixth Grade Honor Chorus on Monday and Tuesday afternoons (October 27 & 28). Auditions will be held in the chorus room from 4:30-5:00. Students auditioning will only need to stay for ONE afternoon.
This event takes place the first weekend in February. A detailed description of the event is found in the HTMS Chorus Handbook. Four students from HTMS will be chosen to attend. Those participating will be responsible for the registration and music fees ($40), all meals, and one night's hotel room.
