HOW TO ACCESS THE ONLINE TEXTBOOK

If you need to refer to the literature book, go to classzone.com, and choose middle school, Georgia, and then GO.  Indicate that you want to access the online book (near the bottom of the screen).  Use 3532040-30 as your activation code.  It will then ask you to create a student account by filling in the blanks.  Set up your own student account to use throughout the year.

Read Act I scene 3 of Anne Frank through line 1030 p. 503.

Fill out character chart as we read.  Make sure you are keeping up with character traits.

Honoring our Heroes Essay contest-due next Wednesday.  Each student must turn in an essay, but they do not need to actually enter the contest.  This will be a homework grade!

Today we read Act I scene 1 of the play version, The Diary of Anne Frank.  We also began reading parts of the actual diary on our NEW class set of Kindles!  Thanks to the school's fundraiser, we were able to write a grant to use the Kindles in class:)

Journal: How do you feel about next week's writing test? Are you prepared? Scared? Don't care? Write a complete well-developed paragraph in which you implement all of the skills we have been practicing.  Make sure you use your best handwriting, spelling, punctuation, etc. 

 

We also watched a short BrainPop video and took the practice quiz at then end.

Welcome back! Today students received new reading tallies.  They are due on February 8th.

We took notes on information about the Georgia Writing Assessment that will be given next Wednesday.  Students will take a brief quiz over the information to make sure they know all the neccessary information on Friday.
