Monday(5/18) -
Today students reviewed for their Unit 8 test tomorrow and turned-in their commercials.

Tuesday(5/19) - Today students took the Unit 8 test and corrected their last computation challenge over complex fractions.  Students turned-in their textbook today.  Students were also given their worktext workbook to take home.

Monday(5/11) -
Today students practiced working on equations with variable on both sides.  We also discussed and checked Part 2B and Part 3 of the "Entreprenuer Project".

  • WS - Practice 6 #1-12 All - Graded in class for accuracy.  Students should go home and rework any problems missed in class.
  • WS - A-48 - "Why Do Girls Like Guys Who Wear Shirts With Eight Button?"  All work should be on the attached WS provided.  This will be due on Thursday, May 14th.
  • Checked both Part 2B and Part 3 of the "Entreprenuer Project"

Today student reviewed for the equation quiz tomorrow and took a computation challenge.

  • W/U #8 - Complete #1-8 on a separate sheet of paper( show ALL work - this includes the check) from WS "Why did the Banana..." This worksheet is located on the back of WS 12.1.  It should be a golden color.

Tuesday(5/5) - Students took the quiz and completed #1-8 from the WS - "Why did the Banana..."

Wednesday(5/6) - Today students reviewed and took notes over solving equations with variables on both sides.  They can reference section 12.3 in their textbooks for additional help.

CRCT testing starts tomorrow and runs through Next Monday, April 27th.  Please make sure that you bring 2 number 2 pencils, an A.R. book to read, a healthy snack, and  water.  Also dress comfortably, eat a good hearty breakfast, and get a good nights rest.

  • W/U #8 - On the same piece of paper you put W/U # 7, write and complete the following questions:  1.  List 3 cross sections that can be made by cutting a cone and describe how they are made.  2.  List 3 cross sections that can be made by cutting a square pyramid and describe how they are made.
  • Review for test by going over the following:  1.  "Cross sections of a Cube"  2.  "Crazy with Cross Sections"  3.  "What's my Solid?"  4.  HW - "Cross Sections of Three-Dimensional Shapes"

HW - Review for test by studying the above WS.  Be ready to complete "Beyond Question" for an accuracy grade.  Complete ALL warm-ups #1-8 - a great resource to help you study for the test.

Monday(3/16) - Today students took the benchmark test for the 3rd 9 weeks.  They also took the pretest for Unit 7.  Then students began to explore the cross sections of a cube.

Tuesday(3/17) - Today students reviewed what it means to have dimension and practiced drawing 3-D figures.

  • W/U # 1 - Copy questions and answer :  1.  What is dimension is a point?  2.  Draw a 1-D figure.  3.  Draw a 2-D figure.  4.  Draw a 3-D figure
  • Watched "Flatland"  and discussed warm-up questions as well as previous geometry vocabulary
  • Drew 3-D figures using isometric dot paper

HW - Students should review 10- 15 minutes nightly previously learned vocabulary which can be found on page 580-581 chapter 10, section 1 in their textbook.  Students should also reivew the cross sections of  a cube using the web address attached to the above file.

Wednesday(3/18) -  Today students defined 3-D figures and their parts.  We reviewed how to name solids.

Thursday(3/19) - Today students explored what happens to geometric figures when rotated or translated through space.

  • W/U #3 - Copy predictions #1 and #2 on a separate sheet of paper and answer them.

Predictions:  #1 - Predict the shape that is formed if you rotate an isosceles triangle about the line from its vertex to the midpoint of the base.

Prediction #2 - Predict the shape that is formed if you rotate the rectangle about a line through the mispoints of two opposite sides.

Monday(3/9) - Today students reviewed both direct and inverse variation.

Test - Unit 6 - Thursday, March 12th

PI DAY celebration will be Friday 3/13 instead of 3/14 which is Saturday.  I will be asking for volunteer to bring in paper plates, forks, napkins, cups, drinks, pies, and coffee stirrer with only one hole to help create our bubbles to explore PI.

Tuesday(3/10) - Today students turned-in their warm-ups for Unit 6 and we reviewed for the Unit 6 test.

  • Reivewed for test using "Beyond Question" - students should have all 10 questions copied on notebook paper with the correct answer to use as a study tool
