TKAM Part I test make-ups -- All Classes

For those not going on the DC trip, Mrs. West is available Thursday morning at 8:15 for make-ups.  See Mrs. Marzullo regarding taking the test during the day.

For those going on the DC trip.  You will take the test on Monday during class which means you are responsible for reading what you miss during class.

For anyone else,  I will be here Tuesday morning at 8:15 for make-ups.  (Note:  If you are here Monday for class, you WILL take the test during class).

All Classes -- May 13th - 17th

THURSDAY:  Today students turned in the take home quiz, and we read and discussed chapters 27-28.  Unit 12 Vocabulary assignment due TOMORROW!

HW:

• Vocabulary Unit 12 assignment due tomorrow.
• All missing work must be turned in no later than Monday to receive credit!

TUESDAY:  Today we discussed Chapter 18 and then read Chapters 19-21 in class.  Students need to read through Chapter 26 by Thursday's class.  Students were also given a take home quiz to work on (optional for some) -- it is due on Thursday.

HW:

• Read Chapters 22-26 before Thursday's class.
• Complete take home quiz -- due Thursday.

MONDAY:  We read Chapter 16 & most of 17.  Tomorrow students will receive a take home quiz for Chapters 12-22 that is due on Thursday.  Students with failing grades will be required to take the quiz, for all other students, it will be optional.  Details will be given in class tomorrow.

HW:

• Finish Chapter 17 and read Chapter 18 -- don't forget to annotate!
• Unit 12 vocabulary exercises due tomorrow for anyone wishing to receive credit.
• Work on Vocabulary Unit 12 assignment (due Friday) -- see last week's blog for a link to the assignment if needed.

SPRING BOOK FAIR

From the Media Center: The HTMS Spring Book Fair is THIS WEEK!!!  Please join us any day this week (April 29^th through May 3^rd) in the Media Center to purchase your student's Summer Reading Book(s) and additional reading materials.  The fair is sponsored by Once and Again Books and will be held in the Media Center of HTMS for the first time ever.  The Book Fair opens at 8:30am everyday next week and will remain open until 7pm most days to accommodate parents attending the evening musical performances (Monday – Thursday) next week.  We look forward to seeing you at the HTMS Spring Book Fair!

AC -- Week of April 29th - May 3rd

WEDNESDAY:  We went to the book fair.  Students were given the information for the Unit 12 vocabulary assessment. MONDAY:  Students took the unit 11 vocabulary quiz and then we continued reading Chapter 1 and into Chapter 2 of To Kill a Mockingbird.  Students were also given the dialectical journal assignment Download Dialectical Journal -- AC grouped chapters.

• Check Pinnacle for any missing assignments and make arrangements with Ms. Felty to complete the work.
• Quiz over Chapters 1-7 of TKAM on Thursday.

**Upon reviewing the information and creating any notes you may need, complete the handout on misplaced modifiers.

If you finish all of the above during class, you can go to the following link http://www.chompchomp.com/handouts.htm , browse through the grammar skills options, and practice any of the additional skills.  Make sure you take a look at the parallel structure section and practice a few of those.

In addition, once you finish the above activities, you may work on your book project that is due on Thursday.

***Note:  Any of the powerpoint handouts that you don't finish must be completed for homework -- you are expected to have it completed when you come to class tomorrow.

To Kill A Mockingbird

All classes need a copy of the novel To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.  Students should have their copy by Monday, April 22nd.  Any student who has difficulty getting a copy of the text needs to come see me.
