I hope all of my Rising 7th Graders have a safe and fun summer!!  Here is your summer assignment:

Stay up late.

Sleep late.

Play outside as much as possible.

Read at least one hour every day.  If you do this part of my assignment, you will be much sharper when you return to school in August!!

Take care and come back to see me and let me know how you are doing in 7th grade.  I will miss you...

There is no Homework assignment tonight or tomorrow night.  Today we ended our study of Alice by discussing the literary meaning to this book and by sharing favorites parts of the book and the Journal entries we chose to write as we read this book.

We also finished our WAG Workbook Punctuation Review.

Students were asked to take home their Journals and Workbooks today.  Only one more day of sixth grade!!  See you on the Trail...

Tonight please finish pages 173-174 In your WAG Workbook.

We will finish our punctuation review tomorrow.  This will complete our WAG workbook activities for this year!!

Tomorrow we will have a class discussion about the important examples of literary terms found in several Alice Chapters.  We will continue learning to play the game of chess as well.  See you on the Trail...

Today we continued our reading of Alice and several students were able to finish their journal entries. We will continue this work tomorrow.

Tonight, in your WAG Workbook, complete pages 169-170.  Please omit the Writing Application at the bottom of page 170.  Review this skill about possessives carefully.  Many students are still making errors as writers when they use possessives!!

There is no homework assignment over this weekend.

Please bring a chess set if you own one that is not too expensive.  If you can bring a set, be sure your name is labeled on the box.  We will learn and practice playing chess next week.  Plan to bring it on Monday and take it home on Thursday.

Today we discussed using Dialogue/Direct Quotations  in our Writing and the value of Dialogue when developing characters .

We checked WAG Workbook pages 158 and 160.  Please finish page 165 and Exercise 1 on page 166.  Bring your Workbook to class tomorrow.

We also finished our Fact/Fiction Activity except for noting the reading of 1 Biography in our AR Logs.

Tonight be sure to add up your minutes/pages in your AR Log and bring it to class tomorrow for our last AR Log check.

We will continue our reading of Alice and completing our Journal Entries.   See you on the Trail...

Today students enjoyed a celebration of the Olympic spirit by competing in various activities.  We will resume our Alice study tomorrow when you return to classes.

Today we continued our study of  Alice  by reading Chapters 7-8 and checking the plot lines for Chapters 1-4.

Be sure to bring any Language Arts books to class to turn in for this year.  Several students need to bring the WAG book from home.

Our last AR Log check is this Friday.  Be sure you have read your Biography as one of the AR books for this 9 week grading period.

Please complete pages 161-162 in your WAG Workbook and bring this Workbook to class tomorrow.  See you on the Trail...

Today in class, we continued our reading of Alice  and most students finished the plot lines for Chapters 1-4.  I will begin checking these plot lines on Monday .  Students who need to finish can do so during class on Monday.

Please be sure you have read a Biography as one of your AR books for this 9 Weeks.  If you have yet to do this reading, you will need to check out a book at the public library.  Our Media Center closed today to begin the end-of-year inventory.

Please bring to class on Monday all of your Language Arts books:  WAG, Reading and Literature. I am collecting them to begin my inventory.

Bring your WAG Workbook to class to continue our Punctuation review.
